Privacy Policy

Electrons Plus, Inc. (“Electrons Plus,” “we,” “us”) runs electronsplus.com. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, who else sees it, and how to get it removed. It is written in plain English on purpose.
The short version
- We do not sell your personal information, and we never have.
- We do not run advertising or retargeting trackers on this site. No Facebook pixel, no ad networks.
- We collect what you type into a form, plus anonymous statistics about how the site gets used.
- You can ask us to show you or delete your information at any time: simon@electronsplus.com.
1. What you give us
Practitioner enquiries
When you submit the form on our practitioners page, we collect your first name, last name, email address, phone number, the type of practitioner you are, your location, and your website. We use it to reply to you and to send follow-up emails about Electrons Plus. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link, and it works.
Provider listing registration
When you add or update a listing at /providers/register, we collect your business name, your name, street address, city, state, ZIP code, phone number, email address, website, Instagram handle, and the description you write. A person at Electrons Plus reviews every submission before anything appears on the site.
Please note what a listing is for: an approved listing is published publicly on our provider directory and map, where anyone can see it. That is the purpose of submitting one. Do not put anything in that form you do not want on the open internet. Ask us and we will take your listing down.
2. What gets collected automatically
Site statistics
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people read and how they got here. It tells us things like “400 people read the technology page this week.” It does not tell us who you are, and we do not use it to build an advertising profile of you.
Analytics is switched off until you allow it if you are in the EU, the EEA, or the UK. You will see a cookie notice, and no analytics cookie is set until you choose. Everywhere else, analytics is on by default and the same notice lets you opt out whenever you like. Your choice sticks in your own browser, and you can change it anytime with the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of any page. Details are in our Cookie Policy.
IP address
An IP address is the return address your internet connection puts on every request, the way a postmark shows which post office handled a letter. We handle it in three places, and that is all:
- Practitioner enquiries. When you submit the practitioner form we save a copy of the submission on our own server, including the IP address it came from, so we still have your enquiry if our email system ever drops one.
- Spam control on listing registration. We count recent submissions per IP address so nobody can flood the queue. Those counts are deleted automatically after one hour.
- Server logs. Our web host keeps standard access logs, the same as essentially every website. We use them to keep the site up and to investigate abuse.
3. Who else sees your information
This is the complete list of outside companies whose code runs on this site or receives data from it. There is nothing else.
| Service | What it does here | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Mailchimp Intuit Inc. |
Holds our mailing list and receives the practitioner form. | The details you typed into the form. |
| Google Analytics Google LLC |
Counts page visits, once you allow it. | Pages viewed, rough location, device and browser type, IP address. |
| Google Maps Google LLC |
Draws the map on our provider pages. | Your IP address when the map loads. Your precise location only if you tap the locate button and your browser asks you first. |
| Google Fonts Google LLC |
Serves the typefaces the site is set in. | Your IP address when the fonts load. |
| SproutVideo | Hosts and plays our videos. | Your IP address, and which video you watched, when a video loads. |
We also use a web host to run the site, and email software to reply to you. Beyond that, we share personal information only when the law requires it, or if the business is ever sold or merged, in which case the buyer is bound by this policy until they tell you otherwise.
Our site links to Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Those are ordinary links. We have not installed any of their tracking code here, so they learn nothing about you unless you click through.
4. What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
- We do not run advertising pixels, retargeting, or cross-site tracking.
- We do not buy lists or add people to our mailing list who did not ask.
5. Your choices
Whoever you are and wherever you live, you can email us at simon@electronsplus.com and ask us to:
- Show you what we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete it.
- Stop emailing you. The unsubscribe link in any of our emails does this instantly, no email to us needed.
- Take down your provider listing.
We are not going to make you prove a legal right before we help you. Just ask. We may need to check you are who you say you are before we hand over or delete a record, which protects you as much as us.
That is a deliberate policy, and it is worth being clear about why. Around twenty US states have now passed their own privacy laws, and most of them only bite once a company handles data on a hundred thousand people or more. We are nowhere near that, so for a lot of visitors we are probably not legally obliged to do any of the above. We will do it anyway. Sorting out who qualifies for which right in which state is our problem, not yours, and we would rather just answer you.
So the rest of this section is what specific laws add on top, for the people they cover.
If you are in the EU, the EEA, or the UK
The GDPR gives you the rights above formally, plus the right to a copy of your data in a portable format, the right to object to how we use it, and the right to complain to your national data protection authority. Our legal basis is your consent for analytics and marketing emails, and our legitimate interest in replying to an enquiry you sent us and in keeping the site running and free of abuse.
If you are in California
The CCPA and CPRA give you the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to correct it, to limit how we use sensitive information, and not to be treated worse for asking. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it, so there is no "Do Not Sell" button to press. There is nothing to opt out of. California's separate "Shine the Light" law lets you ask whether we shared personal information for someone else's direct marketing, and the answer is no, we have not.
If you are in another US state
Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon, Utah, Montana, Florida and a growing list of others have passed broadly similar privacy laws, and more arrive every year. Rather than print a list that goes out of date the month after we write it, here is our commitment: if your state gives you a privacy right, we will honour it, whether or not the law technically applies to a company our size. Email us and say what you want.
One right worth naming, because several of those states require it and people rarely know they have it: if we turn down a request, you can appeal. Reply to our refusal and say so, and a person will look at it again and explain the outcome. If you are still unhappy, most of those states let you complain to your state Attorney General.
6. How long we keep things
- Mailing list and enquiries: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete you.
- Provider listings: for as long as the listing is up, plus our own record of the submission. Ask and it goes.
- Spam-control counts: deleted automatically after one hour.
- Analytics: held by Google under our Google Analytics retention setting.
- Server logs: kept on our host's normal rolling schedule.
7. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, which is the padlock in your browser bar. It means the connection between you and us is scrambled so nobody in between can read it. Submitted listings sit behind a password-protected admin area and are not reachable from the open web. No website can promise perfect security, and we are not going to be the first to try, but we do not collect payment details or health records on this site, so there is not a pot of sensitive data here to lose.
8. Health information
This website is not a place to send us your medical details, and we do not ask for any. Nothing you submit through this site is treated as protected health information, and this site is not covered by HIPAA. If you are a patient looking for care, contact a provider directly rather than sending us anything about your health.
9. Children
This site is meant for adults and for practitioners running a business. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us something, email us and we will delete it.
10. Where your information lives
Electrons Plus, Inc. is based in the United States, and the services listed above are US companies, so your information is stored and processed in the United States. If you are writing to us from elsewhere, you are sending it there on purpose.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect, we change this page, and the date at the top changes with it. If we ever make a change that genuinely matters to you, we will say so rather than quietly editing the text.
